Project description

Thiouracil may be used illegally to increase the weight of cattle. It was generally accepted to be synthetic and until today, farms are penalized when testing positive. However, it was recently demonstrated that thiouracil might have an endogenous origin as well. Therefore, this project focuses on the determination of a new threshold as well as the determination of synthetic/endogenous discriminating biomarkers.
