Project description
This project aims to define early objective sensorineural biomarkers for the detection of arthroprosthetic cobaltism by means of an advanced auditory and vestibular test battery. The term arthroprosthetic cobaltism refers to the systemic toxic reactions caused by the release of high levels of free cobalt ions into the blood stream because of the wear of metal-on-metal hip prostheses.
