Project description

This work package is aimed at the chemical synthesis of structural analogues of branimycin. This work will involve both partial synthesis approaches starting from the natural products obtained by fermentation processes, and total synthesis approaches starting from basic chemicals or from advanced Intermediates already available or publicy known at this time. The main objective is to establish a better understanding of the structure-activity relation in the Interaction with the DNA pol III target(s) or with different target organisms, as well as the possible identification of a pharmacophore.
