Project description
We onderzoeken creatieve kopieerpraktijken als katalysator voor kunsttheorie in de vroege 16de-eeuwse Nederlanden. We definiëren de status en functie van creatief kopiëren in de veranderende kunstpraktijk en -theorie door de onderliggende visuele strategiëen te identificeren. Zodoende analyseren we hoe creatieve kopieerpraktijken opportuniteiten genereerden om kunst te verrijken met theorieën rond imitatie alsook pictorale innovaties in het Noordelijke decorum te bekrachtigen.
