Project description

In implementation of the Water Framework Directive and the Integrated Water Policy Decree is the first generation already made basin management. By 2015, this should be done a review of the analysis and action program to achieve the second generation water management plans. Given the finality of the framework (good ecological status), it is important to formulate actions aimed at improving the biological quality elements (BKE), but also to assess the impact on the ecological status. Within this contract is working on a tool that is two steps can contribute to this. On the one hand it aims to clear processing of the available data in order to identify the main bottlenecks to improve BKE regionally. This is the explanatory hatch within the command, to which a knowledge table for each type of watercourse is prepared to scale Flanders. In a predictive hatch developed an ecological model for the contract is for a number of pilot areas in Flanders, which should be able to estimate the impact on the BKE certain proposed actions.
