Project description

Vegetable oils are obtained from oil bearing plant by solvent extraction (hexane) and/or mechanical pressing. However, due to the presence of undesirable compounds, these crude vegetable oils need to be purified. Enzymatic degumming is a suitable method, since it can not only purified the oil, but also increase the oil yield and reduce the amount of chemicals which are used.
