Equine herpesvirus 1
Project description
Neurovirulent equine herpesvirus type 1 strains cause generally subclinical infections in its host, the horse. However, sometimes neurological disorders appear. Up till no it is not clear what determines the induction of the severe disease. With the present project proposal we want to get better insights in this enigma. Unraveling the pathogenesis will allow in a long term to develop new drugs to treat horses with this nervous disorder.
