Belgian municipalities can obtain a financial allowance from the Minister of the Interior for the implementation of their local prevention policy if they submit a strategic safety and prevention plan (hereinafter: SVPP) that meets a number of predetermined legal conditions. The current legal conditions are set out in the Royal Decree of 7 November 2013 on strategic safety and prevention plans and the Community Guards instructions. The present study aims to evaluate these legal conditions or award criteria. Taking into account the available knowledge about evaluating prevention plans, there is also a need for the identification of objective award criteria, which can be used and applied in a user-friendly way.

Les communes belges peuvent recevoir une allocation financière du Ministre de l’Intérieur pour l’exécution deL leur politique de prévention locale quand ils déposent un plan stratégique de sécurité et prévention (après : PSSP) qui remplit un certain nombre de conditions juridiques déterminées au préalable. Les conditions juridiques actuelles sont définies dans l’Arrêté Royal du 7 novembre 2013 concernant les plans stratégiques de sécurité et prévention et des dispositifs Gardiens de la Paix. La recherche présente a pour objectif d’évaluer ces conditions juridiques ou critères d’attribution.
