Project description

The project aims to understand the regulation of Cx43 hemichannels in diseased myocardium and their contribution to arrhythmogenesis. The study is based on single-channel recordings in isolated cardiomyocytes and impulse propagation measurements in multicellular preparations and intact hearts. The project will provide a better insight into the role of hemichannels as a potential target for therapeutic treatment of cardiac injury.
