“Growth of Complex Oxides” tracht de groei van complexe (i.e. meer-componenten) oxides in detail te ontrafelen d.m.v. een volledige karakterisering en modellering van het depositie-proces (reactief sputteren) om alle parameters die de groei van de laag beïnvloeden, in kaart te brengen. Bovendien wordt de correlatie tussen verschillende eigenschappen van de dunne laag en de stoichiometrie, microstructuur en kristallografische oriëntatie, onderzocht.
