Project description

Central control of Globodera rostochiensis and G. pallida (potato cyst nematodes) in the potato sector in Belgium. The goal of the project is to give an opinion on the cost-effectiveness of different scenarios focused on control of the potato cyst nematode, the short and long term. The feasibility and economic impact of possible scenarios on the different links in the supply chain including seed suppliers, farmers, potato processing industry and consumers will be analyzed in order to assess its cost-effectiveness. This information provides an optimal basis to underpin policy decisions (at both national and European-level) and give the potato direction in taking effective, efficient and consistent action.
