Project description

Rice with stably enhanced levels of two B-vitamins, folates (vitB9) and thiamin (vitB1), and iron, will be generated by metabolic engineering. Robust quantitative analytical methods for thiamin vitamers will be developed. Stability upon long-term storage and bio-effectiveness in rats will be assessed.
