Second language acquisition machine translation writing research
Project description

Second language (L2) learners often use machine translation (MT) tools during composition writing. This study wants to investigate the effect of this usage on their writing and learning process. On the one hand, related research suggests that MT use stimulates L2 learners to focus more on global textual concerns. On the other, using MT may negatively impact the learning process.
