Projectomschrijving

In dit onderzoek zullen patiënten met asymptomatische carotisstenose toegewezen worden aan een van de twee operatieprocedures (carotisendarterectonomie (CEA) en carotis stenting (CAS)). Pre- en postoperatieve neuropsychologische functies, niveaus van verscheidene biomarkers en intraoperatieve embolisatie zullen worden onderzocht. Deze data zullen ons toelaten vragen over preoperatieve disfuncties, postoperatieve veranderingen in cognitieve prestaties en mogelijke verschillen tussen CEA en CAS te beantwoorden.
