Project description

In the biopharmaceutical industry, proteins are the main category of biotechnological drugs. To enhace their functionality, often non-protein molecules need to be attached to these proteins. At present, technologies that can do this in a site-specific way without requiring highly expensive chemistry, are in high demand. In this project, we develop such novel technology, through the use of a sugar-specific oxidase to enable coupling to engineered protein-linked glycans.
