Specific groups of young people in our society are increasingly confronted with social exclusion in several (life) domains. Sports, community sports in particular, is regarded as a potentially rich context for difficult-to-reach young people at risk to achieve social exclusion. This sports-related context is regarded as a vehicle to promote personal development, healthy lifestyles and social cohesion. Moreover, there is no overall policy vision in Flanders related to community sports.
