    • Metals and alloy materials
Keywords
3D-printed metal Vibration fatigue Ultrasonics

Project description

This study focuses on accelerated fatigue testing of additive manufactured metal parts, and will investigate the impact of fatigue damage on ultrasonic guided wave characteristics. This knowledge will be exploited to devise a non-contact measurement strategy, coupled to a Bayesian inference framework, to monitor the evolution of fatigue damage and to predict the fatigue life.
