The study aims to provide empirical evidence for the beneficial effect of machine translation and text mark-up on performance in simultaneous interpreting with text. An experiment will be carried out to explore whether machine translation and text mark-up can improve the output. The results will also provide support to the pedagogical design, the practice of simultaneous interpreting with text and the relevant studies.
