Project description

This research project examines how artificial intelligence (AI) is being introduced into public administration, with particular attention to the human-centered aspects of this digital transformation. While AI is increasingly used in the public sector, little is known about how civil servants and politicians experience and interact with this technology. This project addresses that gap by placing the interaction between humans and AI at the center of its inquiry. Drawing on insights from behavioral psychology and public administration, it explores how public employees perceive AI, collaborate with it, and how this affects key aspects such as leadership, delegation, and trust. Through surveys, experiments, and field studies, the project generates scientific insights that form the basis for evidence-based strategies to support the effective and responsible integration of AI into public governance.
