Project description

Te research proposal concerns the hydrodynamics of river confluencesn with a focus on the effects of bed roughness and vegetation. Roughness, emerged and submerged vegetation, flowpatterns and rubulance characteristics mutually influence eachother. An experimental setup and numerical modelling are used to gain fundamental insight into these processes. An improved model for plantflow interaction in river confluences will be developed.
