Projectomschrijving
Het vetmetabolisme, en daarmee ook de vleeskwaliteit, wordt sterk beïnvloed door de coactivator PPARGC1A. Bij het varken is echter nauwelijks informatie beschikbaar over dit economisch interessant gen. Vandaar dat in dit project de expressie van PPARGC1A nader bestudeerd zal worden en via een functionele analyse de invloed van mutaties op dit gen onderzocht zal worden.
