Project description

This project aims to investigate the reception of the material, language- and formstructures of classical tragedy in the dramatic poetical works of the German author Paul Ernst (1866-1933). As a reaction on the contemporary society and inspired by Nietzsche, he engaged his works to create an artistic and social ‘renaissance’ of a ‘tragic condition’.
