Project description

This project evaluates the potential of bioactive peptides to reduce food intake by interacting with the cholecystokinin (CCK)-receptor. After enzymatich hydrolysis of food proteins, bioactive peptides are isolated and their in vitro activity on the CCK-receptor is determined using a cell bioassay. Moreover, their in vivo satiating effect in rats and their potential in the control of insect pests are evaluated.
