The research objective aims at achieving an integrated financial and operational monitoring system, which provides decisionmakers
and managers with up-to date information for analysing and predicting performance indicators in elderly care centres.
This can result in more effective decision-making and optimal resource utilisation, thereby creating financial space for
investment in enhanced healthcare quality.
Concrete objectives and criteria
The initiative to establish an integrated monitoring system for elderly care centres stems from the sector's need for accurate
information. Existing control systems particularly PartnerPlan Focus developed by Probis, is undergoing critical assessment for
refinement. The research will draw insights from both the hospital sector and the for-profit business industry to enhance the
system's functionality.
The primary objective is to develop a conceptual framework tailored to the specific needs of elderly care centre management,
addressing criteria for efficacy and incorporating quality indicators. In terms of quantitative benchmarks, the focus is on
assessing system efficiency, minimising errors, and resource utilisation. For qualitative benchmarks, the focus includes
stakeholder needs, adaptability and scalability, and compliance with regulations.
Subsequently, the project aims to evaluate the real-world implementation of the system, focusing on dashboard utilisation
and user experiences. Dashboard utilisation rate and the implementation timeframe are quantitative benchmarks, whereas
user experience serves as the qualitative benchmark.
The third phase centres on establishing effective key performance indicators (KPI’s) testing their added value through
regression analysis, contributing to a comprehensive monitoring system. Quantitative benchmarks include the application of
regression analysis to KPI’s and assessing KPI’s cost-efficiency. Quantitatively, the benchmark involves measuring staff
empowerment.
In conclusion, the research project seeks to significantly contribute to the professionalisation and efficacy of elderly care
centre management through the development of a tailored and refined monitoring system.
