Project description

This PhD study centres on the following research problem: What is the nature and impact of leadership and decision making in Pakistan universities and how effective are interventions to upscale leadership and decision making practices? This problem will be studied in a number of public and private universities. At a theoretical and empirical level, in particular Transformation Leadership (TL and Participative Decision Making (PDM) will be studied and how they affect university teachers’ self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation and job satisfaction. Next to a survey study and interviews, interventions will be set up to develop leadership practices and decision making of deans and heads of department.
