Project description

The present project aims to perform comparative studies of whole-genome sequences for model groups of bacteria representing different phylogenetic lineages, in order to design widely applicable sets of genes and primers which can be used to develop an MLSA-based apporach for the delineation of species. The ultimate aim is to use the lessons learnt from these model groups to design a generic appraoch for a general MLSA-based species definition.
