Project description
Human-induced climate change intensifies precipitation and prolongs extensive droughts in the tropics. This has important repercussions for agriculture, water resource management and natural hazard monitoring. Consequently, accurate rainfall observations are becoming more important. This project wants to implement a novel technique using microwave links from telecommunication networks to generate countrywide, accurate rainfall maps for Rwanda and Uganda.
