Project description

The aim of this research line is to investigate how lexical polysemy plays a role in the learning and teaching of foreign languages. The project specifically focuses on developing and improving technologies within ICALL, which provides advanced learning tools through automated language processing.

The main objectives are:

  1. Gaining insight into lexical polysemy, particularly which forms of polysemy present challenges or learning opportunities.

  2. Developing didactic strategies.

  3. Improving ICALL systems so that they can better process polysemy and effectively address the learning challenges that arise from it.

  4. Conducting empirical research on learning effects.

By achieving these objectives, the project aims to contribute to a more effective and personalized approach to language education, with technology playing a central role in supporting the learning process.
