Project description

Long-range regulatory defects can lead to altered gene expression and disease as a result of the dissociation of a gene and its cis-regulatory sequences. Through identification of long-range genetic rearrangements in three human forkhead-related conditions and the search for cis-elements of their corresponding disease genes, we aim at a better insight in the contribtuion of long-range genetic defects in the molecular pathogenesis of genetic disorders.
