Dit project zal onderzoeken hoe het menselijk brein een peripersoonlijk schema van het lichaam construeert om te kunnen omgaan met potentiële fysieke bedreigingen. Door middel van gedrags – en neurofysiologische studies in gezonde vrijwilligers en in patiënten met fibromyalgie zal getest worden of beperkingen in de cognitieve representaties van het lichaam een centrale rol spelen in de chronische pijn pathofysiologie.
