Description

The SINGLE database includes life history data of never-married rural women in the Franc of Bruges during the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, this area largely corresponds to the administrative districts of Bruges and Ostend. Using primarily demographic sources, this database compiles biographical and other data about unmarried women (5,700 individuals, 700 life histories, 50 variables).
