The focus of the activity is academic research for the purpose of PhD study with the title of “wildlife crime in Ethiopia: a spatiotemporal analysis of poaching activity in Ethiopia’s national parks and implications for crime prevention.”

The current activity is working on proposal development and the act of field work for data collection. The researcher's activity will focus mainly on collection of data including

• Spatiotemporal explicit data collection on poaching activity 
• Spatiotemporal explicit data on geographic features 
• Spatiotemporal explicit data on weather conditions 

These data will be collected by researcher and field work assistants from national parks administration and law enforcement agents in Ethiopia. Then  the collected data will be analyzed by the researcher with the assistance of supervisors from Gent University and Jimma Univrsity.
