Project description

My research focuses on the characterization of the radio channel for next-generation wireless communication networks, the simulation and optimization of wireless networks (incl. human exposure), in localization algorithms for different technologies (UWB, VLP), using IMU sensors and the fusion of different signal/sensor sources. I investigate how wireless (radio frequency and light) communication signals can be used for passive monitoring of people (e.g. presence & number of people, respiration rate, heart rate). I investigate how wearable sensors can be used to monitor animal behaviour (e.g. cows) and thus predict welfare-related events (e.g. calving).
