Project description

Diatom cell division is light-dependent. Recently, a specific cyclin was identified that coordinates cell division with light. Via biochemical and molecular approaches we aim to identify and characterize interactors and substrates of this cyclin. The results should shed new light on how this cyclin functions as a gatekeeper to regulate the light-dependent cell cycle onset in diatoms.
