The implications of foliar water uptake during climate change associated drought will be investigated for three tree species: grey mangrove (Avicennia marina), beech (Fagus sylvatica) and Norway spruce (Picea abies). Potential different pathways of this water uptake will be investigated using medical imaging. Finally, the link between foliar water uptake and foliar fertilisation will be examined.
