Project description

NOLIMITS will be a Core Facility for non-linear optical microscopy and spectroscopy, supported by
both the Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. It will serve the UGent research
community and (non-)academic external partners, by grouping over a decade of expertise and advanced
infrastructure related to ultrashort pulsed lasers and the advanced accompanying optical spectroscopy and
microscopy instruments. These tools support the most advanced materials research by diving into
extremely short time scales (down to femtoseconds) and ultra-small length scales (down to sub
micrometers). Additionally, it supports additive manufacturing processes with extreme spatial resolution.
The emphasis of the Core is fundamental research, though interaction with industrial partners is welcomed.
