Project description

Meiofaunal communities will be studied in Cienfuegos Bay, Cuba to determine ecological patterns and to assess the effects of natural and anthropogenic factors based upon sampling and laboratory experiments. Taxonomic studies of free-living marine nematodes from Cuban shallow waters (including muddy, sandy and vegetated habitats) will be carried out. Description of new species and elaboration of illustrated polytomous identification keys will be realized.
