This project aims to build an optical laser system that works in the terahertz frequency range to study nanoparticles, with a focus on
Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs). Terahertz spectroscopy will provide insights into low-energy charge dynamics, allowing
measurements of conductivity and charge-carrier density and mobility within these materials. By creating this THz setup, the project will
provide a useful tool for exploring the electronic behaviour of COFs and similar nanomaterials, helping us better understand their
properties and potential uses.
This project is part of the interuniversity project COFLIGHT, a collaboration between UGent, UAntwerp, and KU Leuven. The project
focuses on light-matter interactions driving photocatalysis in COFs through precision synthesis and defect control.
