Project description

The goal of this project is to develop a sustainable peat substitute based on locally available plant fibers with disease and / or pest suppression properties by grafting with a biocontrol fungus. Three different lignin-rich plant fibers will be explored for this purpose: Miscanthus (case: cultivation of fiber), flax straw (case: side stream of industrial processing) and reed (case: auxiliary stream of management works).
