Project description
The general objective of the project is to understand why specific E. cecorum strains are able to cause disease in broilers, and identify virulence genes and characteristics of the bacteria that are involved in the pathogenesis in order to rationally design control measures. More specifically, the project aims to identify genes specifically associated with virulent E. cecorum isolates by comparative genomics and testing of phenotypes.
