Project description

Rice production is affected by different pathogens and pests, including nematodes. In this study we will characterize the incidence, diversity and virulence of Meloidogyne graminicola in Bangladesh. The efficacy of induced plant resistance by piperonylic acid and dehydroascorbate will be evaluated under agronomic conditions in Bangladesh. A detailed molecular investigation of their mode-of-action will be executed in Belgium.
