Project description
Submarine canyon-channel systems are generally thought capable of transporting material downslope only when connected to a terrestrial source. This project tests this hypothesis and thereby identifies the processes that shape large-scale canyon-channel systems and determine their (in)activity. It focuses on the interplay between bottom currents and downslope mass-wasting processes in the presently land-detached Gollum Channel System offshore southwest Ireland.
