Project description

This project examines the role of curiosity and its literary representation in Alexandre Dumas’ oeuvre. My aim is twofold: (1) to expand Hans Blumenberg’s inquiry on curiosity into the French nineteenth century. This allows me (2) to show how Dumas’ works epitomise the ravishing uncertainty and unrest of his era.
