Project description
In this project we develop state-of-the-art tunable lasers by heterogeneous integration of III-V semiconductor optical amplifiers on silicon photonic integrated circuits by means of micro-transfer printing. These lasers find their application in the optical communication networks of the future, that need to operate over a much wider wavelength range in order to fully exploit the capacity of optical fibers.
