Project description

The aim of the project is the fabrication of conduits to regenerate critical size nerve gaps. It is our aim to

produce porous conduits with a controlled nanoscale morphology in the outer wall, allowing nutrient exchange and

hindering cell ingrowth. The internal space of the conduits should contain aligned nanofibers, to guide axon growth

and cell attachment and migration. Bio-activation and cell interactive characteristics of the conduit will be achieved

by plasma treatment. The so newly created conduits will be tested for their in vitro and in vivo behavior.
