Project description

There are 6 research lines within our  laboratory:

- 1: Chlamydia psittaci infections in humans and animals

- 2: Other Chlamydia spp. infections in animals and humans

- 3: Chlamydia trachomatis infections in humans

- 4: Smart transferrins

- 5: Avian pathogenic Escherichia coli infections in poultry

- 6: Infectious diseases in aquatic animals

This is in collaboration with the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Amsterdam and Maastricht University, Moredun Research Institute, the  Swedish University (Uppsala), our government (Sciensano) and industry. The aim is to maintain and further expand these research lines as well as to build new collaborations through:

- Budgets from internal (BOF, IOF) and external (FWO, FOD, VLAIO, VLIR-UOS, Europe, Industry) funders

- National and international exchange programs 

- Other opportunities
