Project description

The Cuban dependence on imported fossil fuels to produce energy is a problem. For the transportation sector the application of renewable fuels from non-edible crops and waste products offers an alternative to imported fuels (diesel and gasoline). A transition to these renewable fuels requires profound knowledge on biofuels, their characteristics, behaviour and effects on storage, durability etc. This could be obtained by implementing a multidisciplinary knowledge cell in order to increase knowledge on the use of these renewable fuels
