Project description
Petrochemical alkenyl succinic anhydrides (ASAs) are widely used to impart a hydrophobic, water-repellent finish to biopolymers, for example in paper production, the processing of natural fibers, or the formulation of functional, emulsifying starches. In the BIOGRAFT project, we deliver a proof-of-concept use case demonstrating the application of a bio-based alternative to ASA biopolymer modification.
