Project description

The project is on the development of high-temperature steels for nuclear energy and electric power
plants. Several steel grades aimed to extend the operational limit above 550°C are developed based
on thermodynamic modeling and processed at UGent/OCAS. Preliminary mechanical tests proved the
superior performance of these new steel grades. Creep tests and TEM analysis are needed to reveal
reasons for the excellent high-temperature performance.
