Project description

Using the heavy metal nickel (Ni), we will investigate how the waterflea Daphnia magna is affected by combined climate change and chemical stress. Effects under laboratory conditions, as well on population dynamics under realistic seasonal trends of temperature, oxygen levels and toxic blue-green algae, three factors which are predicted to change in freshwater with climate warming, will be investigated.
